Children's Blood Tests — Gentle, Caring, a Little Bit Heroic

Worried about bringing your child for a blood test? We understand completely — and we've built our children's service around making it calm, gentle and even a little fun. Every child who visits leaves a Brave Little Hero.

Brave Little Hero

We make it gentle

A blood test doesn't have to be scary. Here's how we take the worry out of it:

  • Numbing cream, ready before you arrive — with simple picture instructions to apply at home, so your child barely feels a thing.

  • Meet our Blood Test Superheroes — your child isn't seeing a stranger in a white coat, but a friendly face who's here to help.

  • They choose their colours — their own tourniquet colour and a fun plaster, small choices that help them feel in control.

  • A gentle, expert touch — fine paediatric needles and a calm, patient approach, including for children who are nervous, needle-shy or on the autistic spectrum.

  • Siblings welcome, and home visits available if that's more comfortable.

Brave Little Hero certificate

And when it's done, every child receives a Brave Little Hero certificate — so they leave remembering how brave they were, not the needle.

Two answers, one small visit

Most parents arrive with one of two worries: "They're tired, pale, off their food — is something missing?" or "The tummy aches, the eczema — is it something they're eating?"

The reassuring news is we can look at both, often from a single gentle draw. Is it a deficiency, or is it diet? Because your results are reviewed by a qualified nutritional therapist, you don't just get numbers — you get answers, and what to do next.

  • Currently available in Bristol, Swindon and Preston, with more locations coming soon.

  • The essentials — iron, Vitamin D, anaemia, thyroid and coeliac screening.

  • Deficiency and diet together — our bundles cover both in one visit, one needle.

How it works

Get in touch and tell us what's worrying you — no GP referral needed. We prepare you before your visit, numbing cream included, then it's a quick, caring draw at one of our locations or in your own home. Results follow within 2–5 working days, with a written GP report explained to you by a nutritional therapist.

Your child's sample is analysed in an accredited London laboratory, with results in the reference ranges your GP recognises.
